We started this kennel first and foremost because we love dogs in general and especially Irish Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers. We want to contribute to the furtherance of this exceptional breed. Our ambition when it comes to selling puppies is therefore that the puppies leaving us gets to have a good in their new families and grows up to be happy, alert and secure about themselves and their environment. A Wheaten Terries is quite a complex dog, not always easy to deal with, but always rewarding. They are particular, proud and know what they want. This naturally demands quite a lot of the person buying the puppy and that he or she spends a lot of time and energy on their new family member and learns to raise it correctly. With the right upbringing a Wheaten Terrier becomes a fantastic dog; social, secure, happy and always ready for new challenges.
For us The amount of experience a potential buyer has with dogs and raising them is not, in our opinion, at all as important as the mutual trust we can establish with them. Among other things, this means that we never close a deal over the phone. Deciding to buy a dog is not, and must not be, a spur of the moment thing. It´s a big decision and one that inolves us as breeders. It´s therefore of utmost importance to us that we get to meet the new owner and together discuss the issues concerning the deal. It´s also important to us that the new owners feel safe with us and trust us and feel that we genuinely care what happens to our puppies once they leave their nest. We try to give as much advice to the new owners as we possibly can about their new lives as dog owners.
Our care and interest in our dogs does not end with the sale however. We are very much interested in a continous contact with the various owners about how our dogs are doing. To that effect we tend to organize get-togethers at least once a year when (mostly) dogs from the same litter, along with their moms and dads meet up, reaquaint themselves and have fun together. These get-togethers usually involves some fun excercises for the dogs such as tracking, agility as well as discussions on topics such as dog shows and obediance. It´s also very important to us that the owners feel that it´s not the dog shows that are most important, after all, most of the time the dog is 'just' a fantastic companion, bringing joy to its family and receiveing joy and love in return. That our dogs are happy, well-adjusted and thrives in their new families are by far the most important things to us!
